  • Pick pages by thumbnail or by number, like 2-5, 9

  • Your PDF stays on your device

Use the left and right arrow keys to move between pages, Enter to select or deselect the page you're on, and + or − to zoom.

100%

Sometimes only part of a PDF needs to travel: the signed page of a contract, one chapter of a report. Pick those pages by clicking their thumbnails or typing their numbers, and save them as a new PDF in their original order. The pages you leave out stay behind, and your original file is never changed.

Files stay on your device

Your PDF is read and rebuilt by your own browser. The document itself is never uploaded, so there is no queue to wait through and no copy of it on a server.

Pick pages by thumbnail or by number

Every page appears as a thumbnail under its page number, and nothing is selected until you choose. Click the pages you want, or type a list such as 2-5, 9 to select them in one go; Undo takes back any change to the selection.

One combined PDF

You get a single file, yourfile-extracted.pdf, holding the pages you chose in their original order. Preview it page by page before you download it, and rename it if you like.

How to extract pages from a PDF

  1. Open your PDF

Drag the document in or browse for it. Each page shows up as a thumbnail with its page number underneath, and none is selected until you pick it.

  2. Choose the pages

Click each page you want, Shift-click to take a run of pages, or type numbers such as 2-5, 9. The bar at the bottom counts your pages, and Undo brings back a selection you cleared by mistake.

  3. Save the new file

Press Extract, check every page in the preview, then download the file as yourfile-extracted.pdf or under a name of your own. Choose Back to editing if a page is missing.

Extract PDF pages FAQs

Do I get one PDF or one file per page?

One PDF, and one download. The pages you selected are written into a single document named after the original with -extracted added; every other page is left out of it.

Can I pick pages by typing their numbers?

Yes. Type single pages and ranges, such as 1, 4-6, 12-20, and those pages are selected for your new PDF; Select all and Deselect all sit beside the box. The numbers are the ones under the thumbnails, so they always match the original PDF.

What order will the extracted pages be in?

Ascending page order, matching the original document. Neither the order you click the thumbnails in nor the order you type the numbers in changes it, so pick pages in whatever order is convenient. To put pages in a different order, use Organize PDF. Organize PDF

Can I save each page as its own PDF?

Not from this tool, which always writes one combined file. Either run it once per page with a single thumbnail selected, or use Split PDF, which can cut at every page and hand back a ZIP of one-page PDFs. Split PDF

Does this change my original PDF?

No. The file you opened is only read from; the pages you picked are written into a new document. Your original keeps every page and stays exactly where it was.

Can the pages I left out end up inside the new file?

No. Only the pages you selected are written into it. A link or a form field that points at a page you left out is removed rather than followed, so no other page rides along as a hidden object.

Will the extracted pages lose quality?

No. The selected pages are carried over as they are, so text stays selectable and images keep their resolution. Nothing is re-compressed, flattened, or watermarked.

Are bookmarks and form fields kept?

No. The new file is made from the pages you selected, so the document-wide extras stay with the original: bookmarks, custom page labels, and the title and author in the file's properties. Form fields may stop being fillable, and a link to a page you did not select is removed. What each selected page shows is copied unchanged.

Where is my file processed?

On your own machine, inside the browser tab. There is no upload step and no server that receives the document, so a confidential contract or medical record never leaves your device.
