Rotate pages in a PDF

Drop a PDF here or choose one. Turn single pages, a selection or every page, then download it.

  • Turn pages left, right or upside down, one at a time or all at once
  • Undo any turn, or put every page back
  • Your PDF stays on your device

Use the left and right arrow keys to move between pages, R or Shift+R to turn the page you're on, and + or − to zoom.

100%

Scans and phone photos often land in a PDF on their side or upside down. Select the pages that need fixing and turn them left, right or upside down, use a page's own buttons with a mouse, or turn the whole document at once, and watch every change on the thumbnails before you download. Bookmarks, links and form fields stay as they were.

Nothing gets uploaded

The turn is applied on your own machine, inside this tab. Your PDF is never sent to a server, so confidential paperwork stays where it already is.

Turn one page, a few or all

Select pages and turn them from the bar that appears: left, right, 180° or back to how they were. With a mouse each thumbnail also has its own rotate buttons, and All pages turns the whole document. Each page keeps its own angle, and Undo or Reset takes any turn back.

Rotation written into the file

The new angle is saved as each page's own rotation inside the PDF, so it holds in every reader and printer. Nothing else is rebuilt: bookmarks, links, form fields and the document's properties stay as they were.

How to rotate a PDF

  1. Open your PDF

Drop the file onto the tool or browse for it. Each page appears as a thumbnail, so the ones lying on their side or upside down stand out.

  2. Turn the pages

Tap or click the pages to turn, then press Left, Right, 180° or Reset in the bar that appears at the bottom. With a mouse, a page's own buttons turn it in one click, and All pages turns everything at once.

  3. Download the result

Press Download rotated PDF. The file saves as yourfile-rotated.pdf, and you can keep turning pages and download again whenever you like.

Rotate PDF FAQs

Can I rotate a PDF counterclockwise?

Yes. Rotate left turns a page a quarter turn counterclockwise: select the page and press Left in the bar at the bottom, or use the button on its thumbnail with a mouse, and All pages has one for the whole document. For a half turn, press 180° in that bar, choose Rotate all 180° from the All pages menu, or open the page and press 180°.

Can I rotate one page instead of all of them?

Yes. Select just that page and press Left, Right or 180° in the bar at the bottom, or use the buttons on its thumbnail with a mouse, and only that page turns. Select several to turn them the same way together. Pages you leave alone keep the orientation they already had.

Can I rotate every page at once?

Yes. The All pages group turns the whole document left or right in one press, and its menu (⋯) has Rotate all 180° and Reset all rotations. A page you already turned turns again from where it is.

How do I fix a PDF that scanned in sideways?

Open it here and look at the thumbnails: a page lying on its side needs a quarter turn. Select it and press Left or Right until the text reads normally, then download. A page scanned upside down needs a half turn: select it and press 180°, or open it and press 180° there.

Will the rotation stay after I close the file?

It will. The angle is saved as the page's own rotation value inside the PDF, so it travels with the file. Email it, print it or reopen it months later and the pages still sit the way you left them.

Does rotating a PDF reduce quality?

No. Nothing is re-rendered or recompressed. The tool only changes each page's rotation entry, so the text and images in the saved file are the exact content from your original.

Are bookmarks, links and form fields kept?

Yes. Only each turned page's rotation entry changes, so bookmarks, links, form fields, page labels and the document's title and author stay as they were. A digital signature does not survive, because any change to a signed file breaks it.

Is there a page or file size limit?

PDFs with up to 1,500 pages open here, and there is no file size cap. Very large files depend on your device's memory, so closing other tabs helps, or split the file first. Split PDF

Where does my file go when I rotate it?

Nowhere. The PDF is read and rewritten inside your browser, and the app has no upload path at all. Nothing is stamped onto the export either, so the saved file carries no watermark.
