Flattening writes your filled form fields into the page itself, so the answers stay visible but no field is left to retype or clear. It works on AcroForm fields only: layers, comments and page graphics are untouched, and no page is turned into an image. The whole run happens in this browser tab.

Filled AcroForm fields become part of the page and stop being editable. Layers, comments and page graphics are left exactly as they were.
No settings, no sliders, no options to weigh up. Drop the file in and the flattened copy is ready to download moments later.
Drag the file onto the workspace or pick it from your device. There is no account to create and no sign-up in the way.
There is nothing to set, so the run begins as soon as the file loads, and it repeats on its own if you swap in a different PDF.
You get a new file named after the original with -flattened added, and no watermark is stamped anywhere on the pages.
It takes the values typed into the PDF's form fields and draws them into the page itself. The text stays visible in the same place, but the field behind it is gone, so a reader can no longer edit or clear that entry.
No. Optional content groups and layers are untouched, because this tool handles AcroForm form fields and nothing else. Merging layers into one flat page is a different job from this one.
No. Sticky notes, highlights and other annotations are still annotations after the run, and pages are never rasterised. Only filled form fields are converted into fixed page content. Annotate PDF
The file comes out essentially unchanged. With no fields there is nothing to flatten, so pages, text and images pass straight through. It is worth checking that your PDF really is a form first.
No, and that is the point: the values are page content now, so there is no field left to type into. Keep your original if the answers might still change, and send the flattened copy instead.
A signature covers the exact bytes it was applied to, and flattening writes a new file, so that signature stops validating. Keep the signed original if the signature has to stay verifiable, and treat the flattened copy as a separate, unsigned document. Fill and Sign PDF
No. The work happens entirely in your browser, so the PDF never travels to a server. Nothing caps the file size either, though on a very large document the limit is the memory your device has free. Everything you download was made on your own machine.
