Page 1 preview

Every PDF carries a small set of Document Info fields, and readers show them as the file's properties. This tool loads the values your file already has, lets you correct the title, author, subject, keywords, creator and producer, and writes them back. No upload, no account.

Nothing gets uploaded

The file is read and rewritten inside this tab, on your own machine. Metadata often names people and projects, and none of it is sent to a server.

Six Document Info fields

Title, Author, Subject, Keywords, Creator and Producer are the fields it edits. Keywords takes a comma-separated list. XMP and custom properties are left alone.

Starts from what's there

The form opens prefilled with the file's current values, so you can see what a PDF says about itself and change one line without retyping the rest.

How to edit PDF metadata

  1. Open the PDF

Drop your file onto the tool or browse for it. The current metadata appears in the form, and a page preview grid confirms you picked the right document.

  2. Edit the fields

Correct the title, author, subject or keywords, and adjust creator and producer if you need to. Every field you leave untouched keeps its value, except Producer, which is rewritten as the file is saved.

  3. Save the new file

Download the PDF with its updated Document Info. Change a field afterwards and the file is rebuilt straight away, so a typo just means correcting it and downloading again.

Edit PDF metadata FAQs

Which metadata fields can I change?

Six of them: Title, Author, Subject, Keywords, Creator and Producer. Those are the standard Document Info entries most readers list under file properties. Keywords is one field holding a comma-separated list.

Does this edit XMP metadata too?

No. It writes the classic Document Info dictionary only. If your file also carries an XMP packet, that stays as it was, so a program that prefers XMP may keep showing the older title.

Can I change the creation or modification date?

Not here. Dates sit outside the six fields this tool edits. The library that writes the file also stamps a fresh modification date as it saves, so the copy you download shows the moment you edited it.

Can I remove all metadata from a PDF?

There is no one-click strip or anonymise button. You can empty the fields that bother you and save, but Producer gets rewritten during saving, so that one will not come out blank.

Why did the producer field change on its own?

Because the PDF library that assembles your download records itself as the producer while saving, along with a new modification date. Type whatever you want in the field, then check the saved file if that entry matters to you.

Why does PDF metadata matter?

Desktop search, document management systems and the reader's own title bar read the title and author rather than the file name. A PDF exported from a template often still carries someone else's name, and fixing that takes a minute.

Where does my file go while I edit it?

Nowhere. The PDF is parsed and rewritten in your browser, and the app has no upload route at all. No watermark is added to the copy you download either, so the file you save is your file.
