Crop a PDF the way you would crop a photo: drag the edges on the page, type exact margins, start from a preset such as A4 or 16:9, or let auto crop find the content. Every page can keep its own crop, Resize puts pages on a new paper size without cutting anything, and the preview shows the result before you download.

Nothing leaves your device

Your PDF is opened, cropped and saved by your own browser. There is no upload step and nothing is processed on a server, so even a confidential report stays on your device.

Crop right on the page

Drag the corners and edges, type margins in millimetres, inches or points, lock an aspect ratio, or start from a preset. Auto crop shows its suggestion first, so nothing changes until you accept it.

Every page under control

Each page keeps its own crop. Apply a change to one page, every page, a selection or the pages that look alike, and resize to A4, Letter or a custom size without stretching anything.

How to crop a PDF

  1. Open your PDF

Choose a PDF from your device, or try the sample. The first page opens in the editor with nothing changed yet.

  2. Set the crop

Drag the box, type the margins, pick a preset or use Auto crop. Choose which pages the change applies to, and switch to Resize when you need a different paper size.

  3. Apply and download

Check the pages in the preview, select Apply crop, then download. The file keeps its name with -cropped added, and you can rename it before saving.

Crop PDF FAQs

How does auto crop decide what to trim?

It draws the page, finds where the text and images begin and end, and ignores scanner borders and stray specks. The suggestion appears as a dashed box with a small safety margin, and you can adjust or dismiss it before anything changes.

What is the difference between Crop and Resize?

Crop changes which part of the page is visible. Resize changes the paper the page sits on, such as A4 or Letter: the content is scaled to fit and centred, never stretched or cut. You can use both on the same page.

Can I crop each page differently?

Yes. Every page keeps its own crop and paper size. Edit pages decides where a change goes: this page, all pages, the pages you pick, or the pages that share this page's size and layout. A page of another size gets a proportionally scaled crop.

Does cropping work on rotated pages?

Yes. You crop what you see on screen, and the box is mapped onto the page however it is rotated, so the right edges come off and the rotation is kept. If a page is the wrong way up, turn it first with Rotate PDF. Rotate PDF

Is the cropped-off area deleted from the file?

No. Cropping sets new page boundaries, so everything outside the box is hidden in every viewer and printer, but it is still stored in the file. Do not rely on a crop to hide confidential information.

Will cropping blur my text or images?

No. Text stays selectable text, vector drawings stay sharp and images are not re-encoded. Links, bookmarks and form fields come through as well, and on resized pages they move with the content.

Can I try it without PDF Head Pro?

Yes. The sample PDF goes through every step, including the download, at no cost. To crop your own PDF you need PDF Head Pro.

Do my files get uploaded to crop them?

No. The work happens in the page you already have open and the PDF never reaches a server — there is no upload path in the product at all. No account is needed either.
